EU Declaration of Conformity on Accessibility
Windhager HandelsgesmbH strives to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on the Barrier-Free Access to the Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act – WZG, BGBl. I Nr. 59/2019 idgF).
This accessibility statement applies to windhager.eu.
Compliance status with the requirements
This website is partially compliant with the AA conformance level of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council, due to the following non-conformities and exceptions.
Non-accessible content
The following content is not accessible for the reasons listed below:
a. Non-compliance with accessibility requirements
- Add link titles
Many links currently lack meaningful attributes, preventing screen reader users from clearly understanding the purpose of the links. - ARIA labels for interactive elements
Buttons and form fields either have no ARIA labels or invalid ARIA labels, meaning their function is not reliably conveyed to assistive technologies. - Semantic markup for quotations
Quotations are currently not marked up with the element, preventing screen readers and structured tools from recognizing them as quotations. - Adjust color contrasts
The colors used do not meet the minimum contrast ratios (4.5 : 1 for body text, 3 : 1 for large text), limiting readability for visually impaired users. - Accessible video preparation
Videos do not include captions or audio descriptions; as a result, users with hearing or visual impairments cannot fully comprehend the visual and audio content. - Accessible navigation
The main navigation and menu structure cannot currently be fully controlled using only a keyboard or a screen reader, limiting users with assistive technologies from unrestricted navigation between pages and content. - Descriptive link texts
Generic link texts such as “learn more” without context are used; these links do not have meaningful text that clearly describes the target and content of the link. - Consistent link texts
Identical links appear on the same page with different link texts. This can cause confusion and reduce usability for screen reader users. - Heading structure
The heading structure (H1–H5) is currently not in ascending order on all pages, and identical heading levels appear multiple times per page. - Add alt and title attributes for images
Many images currently lack both an attribute and a attribute, preventing assistive technologies from describing the image content or its purpose.
