A home for songbirds that breed in alcoves

Not all garden birds breed in closed nesting spaces with a small entrance hole. Many species such as blackbirds, wrens, wagtails and spotted flycatchers prefer crevices and alcoves. The Loggia nesting box is modelled on this kind of natural nesting place: a solid wooden house that is half open at the front but has a roof to cover the entire area. This ensure that parents and young birds are well protected. There is a hook on the back so that it can be properly attached in a safe place.

NB: If the nesting box is mounted on a tree, a marten/cat repellent belt can be attached as supplied protection for the birds. This does not harm the animals, it simply prevents them from climbing up.
