Jute separating fleece for pots Greenline

  • NATURAL JUTE - Jute is a robust and resistant natural fibre. The sustainable filter fleece for potted plants is made of 100% jute and is 300g/m² thick.
  • CLEAN SEPARATION - In a planter, the jute fleece separates different layers from each other. This prevents the soil from getting down and clogging the water drainage holes.
  • STRONG ROOTS - Excess watering and rainwater can also drain away unhindered, and there is no waterlogging that is dangerous for the roots.
  • ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY - Jute is a renewable raw material, completely biodegradable. The fleece can remain in the soil or be disposed of at/in the composter or in the organic waste bin.
  • SIMPLE APPLICATION - Fill the planter with drainage material, insert the jute fleece, fill in the soil, insert the plant - done.

Well separated with jute
Plants on the balcony and terrace at home are mostly in a flower pot or planter. Drainage holes and drainage in the planter are a must to avoid the notorious waterlogging for the roots. This is where the robust jute is ideally used as a "separation and filter fleece". It separates the potting soil from the drainage material (e.g. expanded clay), thus protecting the drainage layer from contamination with the soil and keeping the water drainage holes in the plant pot free. In this way, excess irrigation and rainwater can always drain off well. In addition, the repotting of plants is easier if the individual layers do not mix.

Benefits for the plants
Jute can store water well and ensures longer availability for the plants in drier phases, even in winter. The jute fabric is a natural product and will rot over time. The mat can remain in the planter or be disposed of in the composter or in the organic waste bin.

Drainage for the planter

  • Cover the water drainage holes in the planter with, for example, fleece or potsherds.
  • Fill in drainage material (e.g. expanded clay) up to approx. 1/3.
  • Insert the separating jute fleece and make sure that it is also tight around the edge.
  • Add soil and insert the plant.
  • Place the planter on feet (e.g. wooden slats) so that excess water can drain off.
