The reed mat, made of light-coloured, untreated reed, is a multifunctional tool for the house and garden.
Natural cold insulation for plants and young trees
The reed mat is well suited as trunk protection for young trees in order to prevent animal and cold damage to the bark. Grasses, tub and potted plants can also be easily covered with the mat. If the plants are wrapped in a jute mat or with jute strips beforehand , they are even more protected against cold and frost.
Decorative privacy screen and wind protection for the balcony and terrace
Pure nature exudes from the reed mat on the fence, balcony railing or terrace. The reed stems are connected with galvanized steel wire to form a stable, uniform mat and they are resistant to wind and weather. Very easy to attach to the fence or railing with universal ties, commercially available cable ties or wires.
Multiple uses for compost
Covering open compost bins with a reed mat naturally prevents the compost from becoming too wet (from rain and snow), from cooling down (in winter) and from drying out superficially.
